Parliament House, Delhi

The Parliament House is a cirular colonnaded building . It also houses ministerial offices,numerous committee rooms and an excellent library as well. Conceived in the Imperial Style, the Parliament House consists of an open verandah with 144 columns.

The Parliament House of India comprises 3 semicircular chambers, namely:

The Chamber of Princes
The Council of State
Legislative Assembly

The domed circular central hall with oak paneled walls and the three semi circular buildings are used for the Rajya Shabha and Lok Shabha meetings.

General public can enter the Sansad Bhawan or the Parliament House and view sessions in the public gallery by receiving permits from the reception office of Raisina Road of New Delhi. No buses are allowed to run near the Sansad Marg but if you desire to come to this place you can hire a taxi or an auto rickshaw. Entrance in the Parliament House in Delhi demands a letter of introduction which is a form of official permission. Indian citizen can apply to the secretariat of the Parliament for permission while the foreigners can apply for permission to their embassies or high commissions.
